Negombo's newly refurbished 5 star hotel nestles among the palm trees on 9 acres of pristine sandy beach, conveniently just 20 mins. north of the main airport. This is a perfect location when holiday time is limited or for those last few days before leaving the island. The Beach is on the outskirts of the small interesting coastal town of Negombo (2 km) and local life continues all around. It is fascinating to watch the local fishermen bring in their catch in the early morning and sit sociably on the beach mending their nets in the late afternoon and evening. This is an excellent resort for watersports of all kinds, but offers plenty for those not wanting to get their hair wet. The Beach also offers child care and watersports. Child care is avaialble at all age ranges with deicated rooms for each level. The West Coast was a strange choice for watersports as the sea is only really suitable for sailing and windsurfing at peak seaosn only - Dec- Feb/ March. However the equipment is first class. A stroll through the town leaves you very aware of the peaceful co-existenceof many differing peoples - the Tamil Hindus, Sinhala Buddhists and many Christians (Anglicans and Roman Catholics). The canals of the twon are worth a day trip as Each of the generously proportioned rooms opens out onto a large private balcony or terrrace overlooking the Indian Ocean, ideal to relax with your sundowner whilst being dazzled by the magnificent tropical sunset, and general amenities are everything you would expect Dining caters for all tastes and styles, fine dining, vegetarian and casual. Local Sri Lankan dishes are tempting, and American buffets and health food vie with International cuisine. Suit your mood and curiosity.

you will see the frenzie of market trading. A lively atmosphere returns by night, buzzing rather than 
noisy, reminding you of an idyllic family seaside of yesteryear. Restaurants abound, from a group of excellent Itallian Pizzerias, to modest local fare. You will be amused to note a very good supermarket named Tesco.
