Diving The Snake

Paradise Island, Bentota   November to April
French Garden Paragash, Upuveli, Trincomelee   May- October

Run by Claudio & Claus , two very experienced divers. They are great fun and speak fluent English and German.

Diving the snake offers daily trips to the reefs along the coast; the journey to the dive sites is about 25 minutes. Dives are in the morning so even doing 2 dives, you still have the whole afternoon to spend at your leisure.

Wreck diving can be explored at the conch, a steam driven oil tanker that went down in the 1870’s and to the car ferry, a 100 metre vessel sunk during the Japanese raids in 1943. Both trips involve bus and boat journeys.

Diving in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is 650km North of the equator and lies with its 1330km of coastline right in the mighty equatorial currents that bring water rich in nutrients to its coast.

Colourful reef fish, shoals of soldier fish and pelagic fish are abundant. Dive sites are rock foundations scattered over the sandy seabed and range from 9 to 35m depth.

An all year round water temperature of 28 degrees makes diving enjoyable for beginners and experienced divers alike.

Courses

Beginner and advanced diver training are an important part of their daily business and they are affiliated with PADI, SSI, Barakuda, CMAS and NRC.

They offer advanced education to all levels and were the first centre on the island to offer courses and has its own nitrox blending facility.
