Helicopter Travel
We have teamed up with Asia’s largest and most experienced and reputable aviation companies to provide transfer and excursions for travellers in Sri Lanka. Approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri lanka (CASSL) and the National Security Council (NSC).
The pilots are from the cream of Army Aviation with experience of flying over the jungles and hillside of Sri Lanka and were awarded Operator safety Award for 2000 by the Helicopter association International.
The fleet comprises the latest models in the world: Bell Helicopters.
The pricing is calculated on a journey basis considering the distance, waiting time, landing stretch, fuel charges plus any necessary over night charges.
All destinations in Sri Lanka can be reached within 1 ½ - 3 hours.

Operational Hours : 6 am to 6pm
Notice Period : A minimum 2 hours notice is required to any given destination plus 2 hours for booking procedure. However, we would request that guests try to give us atleast 2 days notice to make the arrangements and gain landing clearance.
Landing Prohibitations : Colombo is not permitted.
Requirements : Customers full name and passport Number
Full details of Hotel location and contact name to gain landing clearance.
Payment Policy : Full payment is required in advance of flight.
CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
Refunds will be applicable only for cancellations done 07 days prior to the date of the flight. Postponement of a flight to another date is allowed depending on the availability of the Helicopter. Deccan Aviation will not be held responsible for delays and cancellations of flights due to bad whether, mechanical malfunction, other flight interventions or any other matter which is beyond the control of the organisation.
GROUND HANDLING
Above rates are for helicopter related services only, and does not cover any other services – however if the client requires any additional services, the client will be charged separately.
Guests will be greeted and ushered around the airport upon pick-up and departure to ensure a smooth connection. A 30minute period should be allowed for security checking and connection. All connecting passengers to outbound flights will arrive 2 hours prior to their connecting scheduled flight take-off time.
OPERATIONAL TERMS & CONDITIONS
- Pilot in charge will be the final authority to undertake all missions considering the flying conditions.
- All rules as per Air Navigation Act of Sri Lanka will be applicable to all flying.
- Any restrictions imposed by Government Of Sri Lanka or any department acting in its behalf will be mandatory.
WEATHER CONDITIONS
- Passengers will be advised 48hrs before the flight of weather clearance
- In the case of a weather change and flight cancellation, a luxury vehicle is on standby to collect guests and take them to their destination.
BAGGAGE WEIGHT
A passenger is allowed to carry up to 20 Kg of baggage, however it is advised that the dimensions of the baggage be a reasonable size to fit the helicopter baggage compartment.
INSURANCE
All passengers are insured up to RS.60 Million.
HELIPADS
Deccan Aviation has established 75 helipads island wide in all tourist destinations, including private helipads in Hotels and Villas.
BOOKING PROCEDURE
Deccan Aviation will require the Name/s and Passport number/s of the pax along with their travel details and the payment in full in order to reserve the flight for the respective charter.
SAFETY AND SECURITY
All passengers will undergo a security check before boarding the helicopter, as per mandatory requirements of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka.
The pilot in command will do a safety brief to the passengers before they get on board.
