The Argyle takes its name from a Scottish tea planter who settled in the Kuda-Oya area generations ago and became part of the story of Ceylon Tea. That heritage lives on in the character of the property, where old-world charm meets contemporary comfort and warm Sri Lankan hospitality.

Rooms
The hotel offers two categories of rooms
Wallace Room
Named after the legendary Scottish national hero, Sir William Wallace, whose story inspired Braveheart, the Wallace Room offers a cozy and intimate retreat amidst the cool hills of Hatton. Spanning 327 sq.ft and featuring a comfortable Queen-sized bed, these rooms are located on the lower terrace and open onto a private garden. Guests can relax in peaceful surroundings while enjoying modern comforts, including air-conditioning, in-room dining, rain showers, premium bath amenities, LED TV, and complimentary tea and coffee-making facilities.
Stewart Room
Inspired by Walter Stewart, the courageous 6th High Steward of Scotland, the Stewart Room combines comfort, space, and accessibility. These spacious 422 sq.ft rooms feature King-sized beds and private balconies overlooking the surrounding landscape. Located on the upper terrace, they are ideal for couples and small families. Selected design features also provide easy access for differently-abled guests, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming stay for all.
Bruce Room
Named after Robert the Bruce, the renowned King of Scots, the Bruce Room blends elegance with breathtaking scenery. Covering 378 sq.ft and furnished with a Queen-sized bed, these rooms offer two unique experiences. Upper-level rooms feature private balconies with spectacular views of Adam’s Peak, while lower-level rooms open directly to a private garden and the heated swimming pool area. Selected rooms can be interconnected, making them perfect for families and groups, while accessible options are also available.
Campbell Suite
The Campbell Suite represents the pinnacle of luxury and romance at the property. Inspired by Archibald Campbell, the 9th Earl of Argyll and chief of Clan Campbell, this exclusive 645 sq.ft suite is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows offering breathtaking 270-degree panoramic views. Featuring a spacious King-sized bed and elegant interiors, the suite creates an unforgettable experience for guests seeking privacy, comfort, and the finest accommodation available.
Dining
As dynamic as the beloved Mary, Queen of the Scots, the restaurant named after her, will tempt and seduce the most exacting food critics. Blending and fusing local spices and dishes with international favorites and delicacies, the restaurant is open for dining all day long. With produce culled fresh from the locality, guests have a choice of enjoying a tailor-made set menu or discovering the gastronomic adventures in the ala carte menu.
