Taylor's Hill

Kandy,  Kandy

Overview

The majestic architectic of Taylors Hill speaks for itself. Quite distinctive by its size and use of local stone, it’s a reflection of its creator.  Named after James Taylor who is believed to have introduced tea planting to Ceylon over a Century ago, the House sits close to neighbouring tea Estate Loolecondera.

A fellow British planter built this very house in contrast to the traditional bungalow to gain full advantage of the views of Nuwara Eliya hillside.  Located on the slightly lower hill country, it is a perfect base for excursions to Kandy and the East Hill country waterfalls and is somewhat protected from the misty cold nights/mornings of Nuwara Eliya.

Ideal for couples or families, Taylors Hill is home to two sitting rooms, pretty gardens equipped with lawn tennis, a croquet lawn, TV room and snooker table, and lest I forget a playroom for the children.

The infinity pool is a popular is a popular attraction for the idle traveller and if you fancy working up an appetite for the spectacular afternoon teas, stroll through the Estate trails or turn your hand to a spot of Lake fishing.

The current owners are a well-established Boutique operator and Taylor Hill’s stylish interiors, scrumptious menu and friendly hosts are no exception.
